Observers of the 6G-IA are legal entities whose core business is not directly in the network infrastructures or Smart Networks and Services value chains, but their business represents interests that are relevant to the 5G/6G evolution and/or they can contribute to the evolution of 5G towards SNS / 6G.

By definition, Observers are legal entities, complying with the following criteria:

• have a registered seat either in a Member State, Candidate State or Associated Country of the European Union; and
• meet the eligibility criteria to accede to the SNS Initiative Collaboration Agreement 2024 and to remain a party therein.

and comply with at least one of the following additional criteria:

• be involved in significant R&D activities in Europe, or
• contribute and/or support the overall value chain and the mission and vision of the Association and the HEurope SNS Contract,

Observers may join the Association by invitation or by application. Legal entities meeting the criteria shall also have the right to apply for Observer status by providing a written notice to the Chairperson.

A potential Observers must satisfy the 6G IA board, through their written application, that their organisation represents interests that are relevant to the HEurope SNS partnership and that their main activities are not directly involved in either the network infrastructures or Smart Networks and Services value chains.

If you wish to apply for Observer status, please submit a request to  membership(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)6g-ia.eu  stating clearly your interests, what sort of community you represent, what sort of value exchange your participation would bring and how you fulfill the observer status criteria.

Please note:  The benefits of membership of the Association as regards to the participation in Activities are not extended to the Affiliates belonging to the Group of an Observer Member.  (The definitions of “Activities”, “Affiliate” and “Group” are included in the 6G IA Statutes – Click here to Access )

Your application will be reviewed by the Governing Board of the 6G-IA for approval. You will be informed about the status of your application as soon as possible. Observer status applications can be submitted anytime.

Association Fiscal Year:

The fiscal year of the 6G-IA starts on 1^st January and ends on 31^st December of the same year.

Observer Fees 2025:

The fee for Observer status in 2025 is 1000€.

You may join the 6G-IA anytime in the year and the initial fee will be appropriately adjusted:

• New Observers joining the Association from 1 January until end March (Q1) pay the entire annual fee.
• New Observers joining the Association from 1 April until end June (Q2) pay 75% of the annual fee.
• New Observers joining the Association from 1 July until end September (Q3) pay 50% of the annual fee.
• New Observers joining the Association from 1 October until end December (Q4) pay 25% of the annual fee.
