6G-IA Full Membership Application

There are four main types of Full Members with two sub divisions:

  • Full Industry Members
    • Medium-sized Industry Members
    • Large Industry Members
  • Full Research Members
  • Full SME Members
    • Small or Micro SME Members
    • Medium-sized SME Members
  • Full Association Members.

 Full membership to the 6G-IA is open to and limited to entities with legal personality, that

  • have a registered seat either in a Member State, Candidate State, or Associated Country of the European Union; and
  • support the mission and vision of the Association and the HEurope SNS Contract; and
  • have research and development (herein “R&D”) activities in the Member States, Candidate States and Associated Countries of the European Union; and
  • meets the eligibility criteria to accede to the SNS Initiative Collaboration Agreement and to remain a party therein.

NOTE: The deadline to submit 6G-IA membership applications, with the guarantee that they will be processed in time for the 7th SNS JU 2026 Call for Proposals, is 10th August 2026.

  • Eligibility to lead 6G-IA Work Groups and to apply for a seat in the 6G-IA Governing Board
  • Unique chance to participate and influence in setting the European industry position on key technological issues
  • “Affiliate entities” (as defined in the 6G-IA Statutes) to a 6G-IA Full Member are also covered by the membership
  • Voting rights in all 6G IA GA decisions (Large Industry 2 votes, all other membership types 1 vote)

 Association Fiscal Year:

 The fiscal year of the 6G-IA starts on 1st January and ends on 31st December of the same year.

Join the 6G-IA anytime:

  • New Full Members joining the Association from 1 January until end March (Q1) pay the entire membership fee for the current financial year.
  • New Full Members joining the Association from 1 April until end June (Q2) pay 75% of the membership fee for the current financial year.
  • New Full Members joining the Association from 1 July until end September (Q3) pay 50% of the membership fee for the current financial year.
  • New Full Members joining the Association from 1 October until end December (Q4) pay 25% of the membership fee for the current financial year.

 Important Membership Information:

Once approved, 6G-IA Members are bound by the 6G-IA Statutes (https://6g-ia.eu/about/association/) and are required to pay the applicable membership fee, regardless of whether they participate in the submission of proposals under EU-funded programmes (e.g. SNS JU Calls for Proposals) or whether such proposals are ultimately selected for funding.

6G-IA membership is renewed automatically unless a formal notice of termination is submitted in accordance with the 6G-IA Statutes (https://6g-ia.eu/about/association/). While the membership fee for the first year is calculated according to the quarter in which the Member joins, the full annual membership fee is due for each subsequent financial year unless written notice of termination is submitted no later than one month before the end of the preceding financial year (i.e. as the 6G-IA financial year ends on 31 December, notice of termination must be submitted by 30 November).
