On December 3, Dr. Colin Willcock, Chairman of the 6G-IA, will give a keynote speech on the topic “Defining the 6G future: Use cases, current progress and what to expect”.

Session 1 on December 3, titled “Defining the 6G Future,” explores upcoming use cases, current progress, and the ecosystem needed for 6G, focusing on applications like digital sensing and the tactile internet. Keynote speaker Colin Wilcock of 6G IA will open, followed by a fireside chat with David Soldani from Rakuten and a panel moderated by Stefan Pongratz from Dell’Oro.
Session 2 addresses “5G Advanced,” the bridge between 5G and 6G, emphasizing how 5G Advanced use cases lay the groundwork for 6G development. Preston Marshall of Google will deliver the keynote, and a panel discussion led by Sylwia Kechiche from OpenSignal will include experts like Professor Monisha Ghosh of SpectrumX.
Session 3 on December 4, titled “Navigating the THz Spectrum with AI/ML,” examines the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in overcoming THz spectrum challenges essential for 6G. Andreas Roessler from Rohde & Schwarz will present a keynote, and Monica Paolini of Senza Fili will moderate a panel with Scott Patrick from NTIA.
Session 4 explores “Delivering on Sustainability Objectives with 6G Connectivity,” where experts will discuss how 6G can support environmentally sustainable networks through AI-driven efficiency and resource management. Matti Latva-aho from the University of Oulu will lead a fireside chat, with a panel including Venkatesh Ramaswamy from The MITRE Corporation.
The event offers a comprehensive look into how 6G technologies could redefine connectivity, bridging the present with a more sustainable, high-speed future.

When Fierce Network first launched the 6G Evolution Summit back in 2022, there was a slight sense that it was too soon to be talking about this next generation of connectivity before 5G had even taken off.
