The 6G-IA Pre-Standardization WG and ETSI are joining forces at EuCNC 2022 for a special session entitled Research Results Impacting B5G and 6G through Standardization on Thursday, 9 June 2022, 16:00-17:30. The session is aimed at guiding researchers on why, how and when to best approach standardization to take their research results towards industry adoption and onto global developments. Impacts from standardization will become increasingly important under the novel Smart Systems and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU), Europe’s key funding framework for future 6G and related technology. 

The session will facilitate the dialogue between researchers and standards experts, offering guidance through real case scenarios from 5G PPP projects 5G-VINNI and 5GCroCo and ETSI ISG RIS while showing how we can concretely bridge the R&I standardization gap under the new EU and national funding programmes. 

The session will be the first of a series at future EuCNC events as part of a continuous improvement of technology transfer from research projects, highlighting achievements and work in progress.
