SUMMARY:8th IEEE World Forum IoT - ASSIST-IoT CfP
DESCRIPTION:The 8th World Forum on the Internet of Things is scheduled from 26 October to 11 November 2022 in Yokohama\, Japan. \n \nThe Theme for the World Forum is “Sustainability and the Internet of Things”. You will find that the discussion and dialog at the conference will emphasize presentations and panels addressing the four pillars of sustainability: human\, social\, economic\, and environmental. The World Forum will specifically focus on how technical IoT applications and solutions contribute to the seventeen Sustainability Development Goals that were developed in the UN Brundtland Report. \nThe conference will be held as a hybrid conference consisting of both Virtual Live Online and Face-Face sessions where the Face-Face sessions will take place between October 31 and November 4 at PACIFICO Yokohama North. \nASSIST-IoT will be there and call for papers for its Special Session entitled “Future Platforms for Edge-Cloud Continuum–Theoretical Foundations and Practical Considerations”. Call for papers is open. Deadline 13 June 2022. Contributions addressing theoretical and practical aspects of the following topics are invited (this list is\, obviously\, not exhaustive): \n\nIoT architectures for domain agnostic user-aware\, self-aware\, (semi-)autonomous edge-cloud continuum platforms\, including proposals for novel decentralized topologies\, ad-hoc resource federation\, time-triggered behaviors\nFoundations for next generation of higher-level (meta) operating systems facilitating efficient use of computing capacity across edge-cloud continuum\nResource aware AI\, including frugal AI\, bringing intelligence to the edge-cloud continuum platforms (and ecosystems)\nCognitive frameworks leveraging AI-techniques to improve optimization of infrastructure usage and services and resources orchestration\nEfficient streaming Big Data processing within large-scale IoT ecosystems\nInteroperability solutions for multi-user edge-cloud continuum platforms\, capable of coping with systematically increasing complexity of connecting vast numbers of heterogeneous devices\nFederated data spaces approach for improved data governance\, sovereignty and sharing\nPrivacy\, security\, trust and data governance in competitive scenarios\nCO2 footprint reduction and efficient use of green energy in edge-cloud continuum ecosystems\nPractical aspects of resource orchestration within highly heterogeneous\, large-scale edge-cloud continuum ecosystems\nIntent-based networking and its application to IoT\nSwarm intelligence for IoT-edge-cloud continuum\n\nIn case you might be interested you may find more information in the ASSIST-IoT webpage here.

SUMMARY:5G-HEART Final Event
DESCRIPTION:During the last 42 months\, the EU funded project 5G-HEART has explored the innovative digital use cases of healthcare\, transportation and aquaculture. \n  \n\nIn healthcare\, we have selected three major use cases for e-health which will challenge the performance and availability of 5G services. All the use cases share a common vision of remote care or ‘hospitals without walls’: Use case H1: Remote Interventional Support\, Use case H2: Automatic pill camera anomaly detection\, and Use case H3: Vital-sign patches with advanced geo-location.\nIn transportation\, we have focused on various advanced use cases of the transport industry through enhanced wireless connectivity and increased automation\, which would pave the way to fully connected mobility and autonomous driving: Use case T1: Platooning\, Use case T2:Autonomous/ assisted driving\, Use case T3:Support for remote driving\, and Use case T4 Vehicle data services.\nIn aquaculture\, the use cases comprise of two pilot sites: The first site in Greece utilizes the 5G-EVE node and the second pilot in Norway uses the Norwegian node of 5G-VINNI to access the network. The aquaculture use case scenarios are summarized as follows: Use case A1 Remote monitoring of water and fish quality.\n\n  \nThe 5G-HEART final event will showcase the final results of 5G-HEART and take place in VTT Oulu\, Finland on 17th Nov. 2022. You can be free to attend. Registration is required here.
