SUMMARY:AIOTI online presentation of the Device-Centric IoT Security Risk Spectra Mapping Tool
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \nContent \n When focussing on IoT and other connected devices and taking a risk-perspective to those\, a methodology to do high-level quality risk classification is to have a multi-layered approach and do such risk classification per spectrum\, starting with the risk classification of the connectors and connectivity of the IoT device itself\, thereafter with the risk classification of functionalities\, et cetera. Up to 17 spectra have already been identified. \n AIOTI WG Standardisation and WG Policy & Strategy together with certain relevant external organisations\, has been developing a Device-Centric IoT Security Risk Spectra Mapping Tool. It provides guidance on the multi-layered and holistic risk classification of IoT Devices by means of said IoT security risk spectra methodology\, risk level definitions and related IoT security risk mapping. \n In this webinar\, AIOTI IoT Security Taskforce Leaders\, Arthur van der Wees and Jacques Kruse Brandao will explain how it was developed\, and how it works. \n The document can be found here and the mapping tool here. \n  \nThe presentation will be held on 14 July starting at 15.00h CEST and is free to attend\, you can join here: \n  \nhttps://allianceforinternetofthingsinnovationaisbl.my.webex.com/allianceforinternetofthingsinnovationaisbl.my/j.php?MTID=m9d73e7c5ed273baf2a8bb02154ca52f6 \n  \nMeeting number:        2363 358 5991 \nPassword:                    3fhTWiA8Aq3 (33489428 from phones and video systems) \nAccess code:               2363 358 5991

SUMMARY:6G IA Webinar presenting the White Paper: What societal values will 6G address?
DESCRIPTION:Description:\nThis webinar is presented by the Societal Needs and Value Creation Sub-Group of the 6G Infrastructure Association Vision and Societal Challenges Working Group. As we now embark on 6G development it is important that outstanding societal challenges are considered\, and that value creation is ensured. This webinar will present the recently published White Paper on What societal values will 6G address? (click to download) \nThe White Paper outlines how a technology development driven from the perspective of societal values can complement the usual performance-driven perspective. A set of use case areas\, representing new possibilities in 6G\, are identified from published sources mainly from EU funded ICT-52 research projects. These use case areas are then analysed with respect to societal key values that can be impacted by future technology developments. This entails defining Key Value Indicators (KVIs) that can be used for monitoring and validating the impact on key societal values\, and vice versa\, for studying how societal Key Values can be enabled by impacting the technology development in certain directions. We find that the studied use case areas can indeed be connected to societal key values that can be enabled by future 6G networks\, and that it is possible to define KVIs to estimate this value impact. We propose a continued development of this analysis involving relevant subject matter experts and the application of this analysis on upcoming 6G research projects. \nScope:\n\nWhat are Key Values and how can they be measured with key Value Indicators?\nWhat possibilities do we have with 6G to impact societal values through new use cases?\nHow can we use Key Value Indicators (KVIs) as a tool to discuss societal values?\n\nAgenda:\n\nIntroduction (10min)                                               Anastasius Gavras\, Eurescom\nConcept and methodology (20min)                        Gustav Wikström\, Ericsson Research\nUse case example I (10min)                                  Razvan-Andrei Stoica\, Lenovo\nUse case example II (10min)                                 Ioanna Mesogiti\, Cosmote\nUse case example III (10min)                                Marie-Helene Hamon\, Orange\nDiscussion 30min\n\nRegistration\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYour Family Name \n \nYour First Name \n \nYour Email \n \nCompany/Organisation \n \n6G IA Member? SUMMARY:EMPOWER Workshop "EmpoweringTransatlantic platforms for 5G Advanced and 6G networks" @EuCNC
DESCRIPTION:EMPOWER 5G PPP project organises a Workshop on “EmpoweringTransatlantic platforms for 5G Advanced and 6G networks” at EuCNC 2022 in Grenoble\, France on June 7 @14:00-15:30/16:00-17:30 CEST. \nVarious countries and regions have already announced formal plans of government support for their research and development efforts that will define 6G. One of the primary missions of this workshop is to bring industry\, government\, and academia to the table to begin working on testbed requirements much earlier in the innovation lifecycle than has been done for previous generations. The enabling technologies such as separation between the network and the compute\, virtualization\, distribution and Cloud SaaS afford us the opportunity to define physical and digital platforms for at-scale research and experimentation. This trend is going to impact the telecommunication and computer-based sectors\, from design to products to operation and this is where the testbeds meet the network as a fully controllable\, programmable virtualized test platform. The science of Digital Infrastructures raises multiple complex challenges to the research community that already started to explore them in the context of the forthcoming 6G. Experimentation is becoming an even more important methodology to assess and qualify the diverse design assumptions and choices in realistic conditions. It is now timely not only to strengthen existing facilities ready for 5G testing but most importantly start developing early 6G platforms as most components are software-based. This is the motivation for developing a holistic approach where all resources (compute\, storage\, network) are associated to continuously design\, operate and automate the full life cycle management of applications and services. Experimental platforms should be able to address the end-to-end scenario\, integrating all technologies and components. Such platform will allow researcher and industry to question scientific challenges regarding the future technologies and services. They will be based on a technology roadmap that will be consolidated on the basis of the analysis of several inputs provided by the community regarding the wireless technology advances\, that are pertinent to the evolution of new radio (NR) and core network (CN) unti-2030. It is important to note that initiatives exist at the international level with ambitious projects and programmes like EU ESFRI SLICES (2021- 2040\, 150M€)\, EC H2020 5G Infrastructure PPP (2015-2023\, 700 M€) and forthcoming EC HEU SNS JU (2022-2030\, 900 M€)\, in the US (NSF PAWR 2017-2022 100M$\, NSF FABRIC 2019-2024 20M€)\, BRIDGES (2021-2024\, 2.5M$) and China (CENI 018-2022 190M€)\, and efforts also developing in Japan.
