SUMMARY:5G Smart Webinar on Industry and 3GPP RAN latest status in smart manufacturing
DESCRIPTION:The 5G-SMART project is organizing a webinar entitled “5G for smart manufacturing – Industry and 3GPP RAN latest status” on 22 September\, 2020 at 3 pm CEST with 90 minutes duration. \n\nBook your agenda for this event and register your anticipated participation here.\nDetails for the webinar link will be given at the beginning of September.\n\n  \nBelow are the webinar speakers: \n\nChristian Hoymann (Ericsson) received his diploma and doctoral degree in electrical engineering from RWTH Aachen University in 2002 and 2008\, respectively. Since 2007 he has worked at Ericsson Research. As a principal researcher\, he drives the 3GPP LTE evolution as well as next generation radio access\, in both research and standardization. He is currently head of Ericsson’s 3GPP RAN delegation.\nKrister Landernäs (ABB) joined ABB Corporate research in 2006 and has more than 10 years’ experience of working with applied research. He is a principal scientist in the area of wireless communication and has worked in and lead numerous research projects. In addition\, Krister has also been active in standardization and was a working member of the Wireless HART standardization. He is currently technology manager for the H2020-ICT19 project 5G-SMART and responsible for a 5G Lab collaboration with Ericsson.\n\nThe vision of the 5G-SMART project (www.5gsmart.eu) is to empower Europe’s manufacturing sector with 5G solutions by integrating 5G in the manufacturing ecosystem\, resulting in an accelerated digital transformation. This is done within the project by demonstrating and validating 5G in real-world factory setups\, exploring the roles of mobile network operators and new business models as well as developing new 5G features targeting the manufacturing sector. 5G-SMART lead by Ericsson brings together a strong consortium of partners involved in every aspect of the manufacturing ecosystem.

SUMMARY:“Automotive Trials for Make-Before-Break 5G Edge Cloud Handover” webinar organised by 5G PPP Automotive Group
DESCRIPTION:Toyota\, Vodafone and Ericsson jointly conducted Edge Computing trials at the Aldenhoven Testing Center in 2020. Goal was to get more insight on two research questions: Do file download- / upload-based applications\, like for example HD Mapping\, benefit from Edge Computing and what advantage will Make-Before-Break gateway switching (aka Session and Service Continuity (SSC) mode 3)\, provided by 5G Core\, bring? The presentation and hopefully fruitful discussions around it will provide these insights. Experience shared should also help ongoing and future projects to setup and execute 5G Edge Computing trials\, even if only 4G or non-standalone 5G networks are available for that. \nMaciej Muehleisen (Ericsson Research) will present results and takeaways from Joint Trials of Toyota\, Vodafone and Ericsson at the Aldenhoven Testing Center  \n  \nFeel free to join the virtual meeting organised via Teams: \nJoin Microsoft Teams Meeting \n+49 89 26204287 Germany\, München (Toll) \nConference ID: 482 024 041#

SUMMARY:Webinar on "the impact of covid-19 on supply chains and food safety"
DESCRIPTION:AIOTI is co-organising a webinar on The impact of COVID-19 on supply chain and food safety on 30 June at 15.00h CET. \nThe novel coronavirus sweeping the globe has exposed how vulnerable international supply chains are to disruption. However\, crisis often provides opportunity. As a result of quarantines and lockdowns\, global supply chains are being replaced by local chains (ex. food supply). But while the world’s food system has so far weathered the challenge of COVID-19\, visibility is crucial\, and local suppliers are lacking a proper data sharing model\, leading to ‘information chaos’. \nThis webinar will bring together trusted global supply chain and food industry experts (farmers\, cooperatives\, supermarkets and retailers) to explore the current challenges and describe how a new AIOTI-developed program navigate the “new normal” of rerouting to local supply chains\, and how it has had a huge impact on ecological footprints and air quality. \nPlease feel free to register here. \n
