SUMMARY:5GCroCo Lunchtime Webinar 4-2: Docker Security Part 2
DESCRIPTION:Lunchtime Webinar Nr.4-2  \nWelcome to the second part of the 4th in a planned series of 5GCroco Lunchtime Webinars.  These webinars will address different aspects of the technical work of the 5GCroco project in detail with some time for questions and discussions on the work presented. \nAGENDA: \nSecurity Guideline for Docker \nContainer technologies have seen a rise in popularity in recent years. They provide a convenient way of packaging applications for deployment in production and offer lightweight alternatives to virtual machines (VMs). However\, containers do not offer the same security benefits as VMs and – from a security perspective – many things can be done wrong when developing and running containerized workloads. \nThis web-seminar gives an overview of security threats and common vulnerability patterns related to designing\, developing\, and deploying docker containers. The focus are the most common docker vulnerability patterns\, as seen “in the wild” from the experience of security assessments and based on security best practices. Insecure practices\, potential misconfigurations and common pitfalls related to the building of docker images\, containers at runtime\, and the host environment are covered. For every issue\, secure solutions\, available protection mechanisms\, as well as examples are provided. \nThe target audience of this web-seminar are developers with a basic understanding of docker who want and need to ensure they build and run containerized workloads in a secure manner. Only issues to docker and docker-compose are covered. More complex container orchestration tools\, such as Kubernetes or OpenShift\, are out of scope. \n**Note** This web-seminar is split into two parts. This second part continues where the first part (presented on the 10th May) leaves off . \nAs preparation we suggest reading Section 4.5.3 of 5GCroCo Deliverable D3.2 on https://5gcroco.eu/images/templates/rsvario/images/5GCroCo_D3_2.pdf \nSPEAKER: \nFabian Würfl works as Security Consultant at SEC Consult. His main areas of work are web application pen tests\, network security assessments and Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift security assessments. He regularly holds secure coding trainings for developers and works on internal software development projects. \nREGISTRATION: \nError: Contact form not found.

SUMMARY:IEEE 5G Virtual Summit – IEEE 5G for Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM)
DESCRIPTION:  \nIn the context of the European 5G Action Plan\, the mobility vertical\, spanning road\, rail\, water ways and coastal maritime\, including a multi-modality component\, has been singled out as a driver of the European Single Digital Market. The main societal objectives of Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) are Safer Rides (enhanced road safety)\, More Efficient Rides (lower emissions and reduced congestion) and Connected Rides (infotainment). But the impact of CAM on jobs and growth\, as well as on global competitiveness\, will be paramount. This will be achieved by building a complete ecosystem around infrastructure\, equipment and services on top of 5G advanced connectivity\, whilst mutualizing the huge investments in mobile and fixed broadband. Considerable effort and funding (from Horizon 2020) has been put into large-scale testing and validation\, and even pre-deployment\, of 5G namely in cross-border segments of Trans-European Transport Corridors. The objective is now to move towards large-scale deployment across the Continent. \nThis first 5G for CAM conference will bring together a variety of EU-funded projects in the area of CAM\, to share their experiences and present results with a view towards deployment. As Horizon 2020 is open to International participation\, the event will also provide an opportunity to address a broader global perspective. \nMany 5G PPP projects will be present: Phase 3 5G PPP  Automotive Projects  5G-CARMEN\, 5G-CROCO and 5G-MOBIX and 5G for CAM Projects 5G-MED\, 5G-RAIL\, 5G-ROUTES will be there and will be accompanied by 5G-HEART a 5G PPP Phase 3\, Part 3 Project on “5G HEalth AquacultuRe and Transport validation trials”\, by 5G-LOGINNOV a 5G PPP Phase 3 Part 5 Project which envisions to use technologies to innovate logistics and ports\, by Vital 5G a 5G PPP Phase 3 Part 6 Project on “Vertical Innovations in Transport And Logistics over 5G experimentation facilities” and by 5G-PICTURE a 5G PPP Phase 2 Project on “5G Programmable Infrastructure Converging disaggregated neTwork and compUte Resources” and by the H2020 5G-DRIVE project. \nMore information about this event here.

SUMMARY:5GCroCo Lunchtime Webinar 4-1: Docker Security Part 1
DESCRIPTION:Lunchtime Webinar Nr.4-1  \nWelcome to the 4th in a planned series of 5GCroco Lunchtime Webinars. The second part continues on the 17th May from where the first part leaves off .

SUMMARY:W4: 5G-enabled safety and support services for cooperative\, connected and automated mobility
DESCRIPTION:Safety and support services running on top of 5G network infrastructures have a great opportunity to facilitate cooperative\, connected and automated mobility (CCAM) for automotive and transport verticals in a variety of road conditions and operational environments. As the rollouts of commercial 5G networks continue all over the world\, the increasing coverage and continuously evolving capabilities of the technology make it an ideal connectivity platform for a variety of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication scenarios. Critical network-based services enhancing the road traffic safety are able to exploit the ultra-reliable low latency communication (URLLC) services offered by 5G. Other non-critical support services can rely on enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and massive machine type communications (mMTC) services provided by 5G networks and facilitate the operation of the intelligent road transport systems as well as the comfort and wellbeing of the drivers and passengers. \nThe aim of the workshop is to exploit these opportunities from several perspectives. First\, the workshop distributes the latest results assessing the suitability of the currently standardised 5G functionalities in a variety of CCAM scenarios. Second\, the workshop discusses the gaps identified in the existing 5G capabilities when it comes to the heterogeneous requirements\, stemming from these scenarios\, and offers new technological solutions to fill the identified gaps. Third\, the workshop considers novel services and concepts that 5G networks would enable to improve the safety and performance of CCAM. \nThe workshop is organised by the EU Horizon 2020 5G-HEART and Celtic-Next 5G-SAFE-Plus projects. \n\n\nMore information about the event here.
