SUMMARY:5G-HEART webinar series #4: Network Architecture and Slicing for Vertical Trials
DESCRIPTION:This webinar presents the network architecture and slicing definition of testbed facilities to support trialling three verticals\, Healthcare\, Transport and Aquaculture considered in the 5G-HEART project. The 5G-HEART project exploits five testbed facilities\, which are three ICT-17 facilities (5G-VINNI\, 5GENESIS\, and 5G-EVE) and two national 5G test platforms (5GTN and 5Groningen). The network architecture and key characteristics on three parts (i.e.\, core & transport\, radio & edge\, and management & orchestration) of these testbed facilities are introduced. Since the focus of 5G-HEART is to implement use-cases of the three verticals on top of the existing testbed facilities\, analysis of the slicing methodology (i.e.\, identification of supportable slice types and flexible network configuration for various types of slices) required to support the trials are presented for each testbed facilities. \nPreliminary agenda: \n\nIntroduction by Haeyoung Lee\, University of Surrey\, UK\nTest Facility #1 – 5G-VINNI by Andres Gonzalez\, Telenor\, Norway\nTest Facility #2 – 5Genesis by George Xilouris\, NCSRD\, Greece\nTest Facility #3 – 5G-EVE by Christina Lessi\, OTE\, Greece\nTest Facility #4 – 5GTN by Jarno Pinola\, VTT\, Finland\nTest Facility #5 – 5Groningen by Iñaki Martín Soroa\, TNO\, Netherlands\nWrap-Up and Closing by Haeyoung Lee\, University of Surrey\, UK\n\nRegister online here.

SUMMARY:SNS Webinar for Verticals
DESCRIPTION:INTRODUCTION:\nThe 5G PPP partnership has been a successful collaborative research effort to create and apply 5G technology with a European footprint. in this partnership\, Large industry\, SMEs and Academia have collaborated to shape the 5G building blocks\, influence standardization and trial meaningful use cases for society and the economy. A central part of the 5G PPP was working closely together with vertical industries and Memorandum of Understandings have been set in place with vertical industry associations such as 5GAA\, ERTICO\, ESA\, PSCE\, ECSO and others to ensure participation and dialogue. \nLooking forward\, a new private partnership is about to start to drive 5G evolution and create 6G technology. This partnership is again an initiative bringing together industry and the European Commission and will be called “Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU)”. Almost 1 Billion euro will be made available to a large set of players\, including all economic sectors\, to shape network technologies and services of the future serving digital transformation of our society and economy. In this new partnership\, vertical industries will play a central role and with webinar we would like to concentrate on the opportunities for Verticals in smart networks and services. \nThis webinar is intended to inform all interest parties of the benefits of participation in Smart Networks and Services\, the likely structure and scope of the first Work Program and engage interested parties in an interactive discussion about the benefits of new mobile technologies and services. \nAGENDA:\n\n14:30                               Welcome/Introduction\,                                            Bernard Barani\, Deputy Head of Unit\, DG Connect\, European Commission\n14:40 – 15:00                 Introduction to the SNS JU\,                                      Dr. Colin Willcock\, Nokia\, Chairman of the Board\, 5G Infrastructure Association.\n15:00 – 15:30                 Verticals engagement in the SNS JU\,                      Dr. Raffaele de Peppe\,   Telecom Italia S.p.A.\, Board Member\, 5G Infrastructure Association\n15:30 – 15:45                 Next steps                                                                   Dr. Colin Willcock\, Nokia\, Chairman of the Board\, 5G Infrastructure Association.\n15:45 –                            Q&A                                                                              All\n\nREGISTRATION:\nThis event is being held virtually using the Zoom Platform.  To register please follow this link to the Zoom Registration Portal \n
