SUMMARY:Digitalisation & Connectivity: Techritory 2025 set for Riga\, Latvia
DESCRIPTION:On 22–23 October 2025\, the ATTA Centre in Riga\, Latvia\, will host Techritory 2025\, a leading European forum on digitalisation and connectivity. Under the theme “Connected Futures through Digital Paths”\, the event will gather over 600 speakers and guests from industry\, research\, policy\, and innovation. Topics include 6G and 5G\, quantum\, AI\, defence connectivity\, sustainable data centres\, digital identity\, non-terrestrial networks\, drone applications\, data security\, and maritime autonomy. \n\nCo-creation events\nThree co-creation sessions\, organised with the SNS CO-OP project and the 6G-IA\, will focus on inclusion and monetisation in next-generation technologies: \n\nWiTaR in Focus: Advancing Research and Pre-Standardisation Synergies in Emerging Technologies (22 October\, 11:00–12:30).\nShaping the future of connectivity requires more than innovation — it calls for collaboration between research\, standardisation\, and inclusivity. At this year’s Techritory Forum\, the 6G-IA Working Groups Women in Telecommunications and Research (WiTaR) and Pre-Standardisation\, with support from the SNS CO-OP project\, bring together experts to bridge the gap between R&D and standards in 6G.\nThe session will open with a video message from Erzsébet Fitori\, Executive Director of SNS JU\, highlighting the importance of inclusive research and standardisation in Europe’s digital future.\nThis interactive session invites researchers\, innovators\, policymakers\, and diversity advocates to contribute\, know challenges\, and co-create solutions. Together\, we will identify gaps\, share experiences\, and build pathways toward an inclusive\, impactful 6G ecosystem.\nSpeakers include Pooja Mohnani (Eurescom)\, Veronica Vutto (Trust-IT Services)\, Rute C. Sofia (5G+/6G ETF)\, and Prachi Sachdeva (TNO)\, with a panel moderated by Uwe Herzog (Eurescom). \n\n\nIntegrated Sensing and Communications in SNS Trials and Pilots: Pathway to Monetisation of 6G Networks (22 October\, 14:00–17:00). Organised by the 6G-IA Trials WG and Vertical Task Force Chairs\, the event will explore how ISAC can create value in areas such as infrastructure monitoring\, smart manufacturing\, and autonomous mobility. It will feature SNS-funded projects\, EC representatives\, ETSI experts\, and industry leaders\, with a panel on aligning standards\, trials\, and markets. \n\nA European Cloud: Myth or Reality? (22 October\, 11:00–12:30). This session will explore the role of cloud computing in Europe’s digital transformation\, focusing on sovereignty\, sustainability\, and innovation for 6G. It will present key initiatives such as 3C Networks\, highlight perspectives from open-source communities\, operators and telecom players\, and discuss business opportunities and regulatory needs for strengthening Europe’s cloud ecosystem.\n\nStage contributions\n6G-IA and SNS JU experts will also join high-level stage discussions: \n\nEuropean Leadership in Key Digital Sectors: Driving FP10 to Success (23 October\, 10:30-11:20)\nThis panel will bring together technology leaders from telecoms\, cloud\, AI\, and microelectronics\, alongside European Commission representatives\, to address opportunities and threats for research and innovation beyond 2030. The debate will cover: \n\ndigital sectors expected to dominate in 2030+ (6G\, AI\, cloud/edge\, chips\, satellite);\nareas where Europe already leads and how to maintain this position;\nweaker sectors and actions needed to strengthen them;\nthe role of these technologies in Europe’s 6G roadmap;\nstrategic investments required over the next five years.\n\n\nIn Defence of 5G (22 October\, 17:00-17:50) debating 5G’s perceived underdelivery\, monetisation challenges\, and the potential of 5G Advanced and private networks.\nThe session will also explore whether Europe’s investment culture is too risk-averse\, how to enable AI-driven and deep-tech startups\, and how funding landscapes differ between developed and emerging markets.\nSpeakers include Colin Willcock\, 6G-IA Board Chair\, alongside leading analysts and industry experts.\nDigital Innovation Funding (22 October\, 17:00-17:50)\, debating between official representatives\, will try to understand what funding mechanisms are currently available to support digital innovation\, and how accessible they are to startups and growth-stage companies. But also\, if Europe’s investment culture is too risk-averse to support the creation of global tech giants\, and how the mindset can be send? This session will also deep into the current funding models prepared for AI-driven startups and deep tech\, or if these require entirely new financial instruments.\nErzsébet Fitori will participate in this Techritory Stage Session on Digital Innovation Funding\, discussing mechanisms that support digital innovation and the accessibility of funding for startups and growth-stage companies.\n\n  \n\nParticipation\nParticipation in co-creation events is free of charge via the Techritory 2025 registration page. Selected sessions will also be streamed live on live.techritory.com.
