SUMMARY:8th IEEE World Forum IoT - ASSIST-IoT CfP
DESCRIPTION:The 8th World Forum on the Internet of Things is scheduled from 26 October to 11 November 2022 in Yokohama\, Japan. \n \nThe Theme for the World Forum is “Sustainability and the Internet of Things”. You will find that the discussion and dialog at the conference will emphasize presentations and panels addressing the four pillars of sustainability: human\, social\, economic\, and environmental. The World Forum will specifically focus on how technical IoT applications and solutions contribute to the seventeen Sustainability Development Goals that were developed in the UN Brundtland Report. \nThe conference will be held as a hybrid conference consisting of both Virtual Live Online and Face-Face sessions where the Face-Face sessions will take place between October 31 and November 4 at PACIFICO Yokohama North. \nASSIST-IoT will be there and call for papers for its Special Session entitled “Future Platforms for Edge-Cloud Continuum–Theoretical Foundations and Practical Considerations”. Call for papers is open. Deadline 13 June 2022. Contributions addressing theoretical and practical aspects of the following topics are invited (this list is\, obviously\, not exhaustive): \n\nIoT architectures for domain agnostic user-aware\, self-aware\, (semi-)autonomous edge-cloud continuum platforms\, including proposals for novel decentralized topologies\, ad-hoc resource federation\, time-triggered behaviors\nFoundations for next generation of higher-level (meta) operating systems facilitating efficient use of computing capacity across edge-cloud continuum\nResource aware AI\, including frugal AI\, bringing intelligence to the edge-cloud continuum platforms (and ecosystems)\nCognitive frameworks leveraging AI-techniques to improve optimization of infrastructure usage and services and resources orchestration\nEfficient streaming Big Data processing within large-scale IoT ecosystems\nInteroperability solutions for multi-user edge-cloud continuum platforms\, capable of coping with systematically increasing complexity of connecting vast numbers of heterogeneous devices\nFederated data spaces approach for improved data governance\, sovereignty and sharing\nPrivacy\, security\, trust and data governance in competitive scenarios\nCO2 footprint reduction and efficient use of green energy in edge-cloud continuum ecosystems\nPractical aspects of resource orchestration within highly heterogeneous\, large-scale edge-cloud continuum ecosystems\nIntent-based networking and its application to IoT\nSwarm intelligence for IoT-edge-cloud continuum\n\nIn case you might be interested you may find more information in the ASSIST-IoT webpage here.

SUMMARY:5GZORRO Final Event 2022 - Towards a Dynamic Spectrum Marketplace
DESCRIPTION:Sept. 19\, 2022 – 5GZORRO is pleased to present in this Final Event\, the latest results and outcomes on the ambitious goal stated at the initial stage: to define solutions for the 5G evolution in longer terms\, having Zero-touch automation\, security\, and trust among multiple parties through blockchains\, network slicing across ubiquitous computing and connectivity as key aspects of the investigation.\nThe main objective was to share our innovative approach to: \n\nShare and discover heterogeneous types of resources\, in particular spectrum\, virtualized radio access\, virtualized edge/core\, software defined WAN across multiple operators and infrastructures.\nMulti-party agreements to build distributed and pervasive 5G infrastructures\, from data centres down to edge and far edge computing.\nFull automation of network and service management (zero-touch network and service management).\nCoexistence of Cloud-native and traditional IaaS network functions (containers\, service meshes\, microservices).\nDistributed Ledger Technologies for spectrum sharing and cross-operator/cross-domain service chains\n\nIn these past 36 months\, due to the very innovative nature of the core topics covered by 5GZORRO research\, the Consortium has worked very hard and invest a significant amount of resources in generating awareness and visibility for its results\, both within the scientific community working on 5G and within network industry\, operators\, regulators\, SMEs. \nSince 5G has demonstrated to be one of the main catalysts of the pervasive digitalisation of our society: ultra-high bandwidth\, low latency\, increased density\, and continuity of connectivity for various Vertical industries (Media\, eHealth\, Smart Cities\, Digital Factories\, etc.)\, the step forward is to achieve intelligent connectivity and to implement it without limits. \nDuring the 5GZORRO Final Event\, we aim to show more about the 5GZORRO innovative platform and speak with experts about the incredible opportunities offered by our proposals. \nDuring the 5GZORRO Final Event\, we aim to show more about the 5GZORRO innovative platform and speak with various stakeholders about the incredible opportunities offered by our proposals. \nThe Final Event will take place next Oct. 27th from University Carlos III Madrid Leganes\, Spain @14:00-17:00 CEST. \n \n  \nWith the participation of relevant guest speakers\, this final 5GZORRO Tech Talk#5 will explore the new requirements and characteristics introduced by B5G and 6G networks\, which have not been covered by previous solutions in the literature\, and will touch the current efforts of major standardization groups to homogenize the main processes of trust models\, the different angles currently considered to provide trust in cross-domain scenarios; as well as\, some of the current solutions from other European projects. \nModerated by Prof. Gregorio Martínez Perez – University of Murcia \n \n
