DESCRIPTION:SLICES organises a Workshop on “Scientific Instruments to support digital infrastructure science” @ IFIP Networking Conference 2022 and calls for papers: \nSLICES solicits original papers including but not limited to: \n\nAdvanced wireless networking experimentation\n\nNew waveforms;\nHigher frequencies up to THz;\nSpectrum and wireless management;\nIntegrated sensing and communication;\nMultiple heterogeneous radio management;\n\n\nTesting Smart/intelligent infrastructure operation and management\n\nAdvanced protocols and architecture (virtualization\, softwarization\, programmability);\nAI applied to infrastructure operation and optimization at all layers;\nGeneration of data to train algorithms;\nDistribution of intelligence into the Edge of the network;\n\n\nDesign and validation of new Edge/Fog infrastructures\n\nSoftware and components deployment;\nDistributed resource management;\nGeo-distributed data management;\nFederated deep-learning;\n\n\nMethodology for designing and operating a scientific instrument\n\nInstrumentation and measurement;\nArchitecture and APIs;\nExperiment design and life-cycle management;\nData management and reproducibility;\nTestbed implementation and operation.\n\n\n\nThe workshop will follow a full day structure. The Workshop programme is structured for a full day withTalks/Panels in the workshop session\, complemented with demonstrations if this is made possible.
